KB Circuit Session

I thought it was important to say ....

Thursday Evening we did a KB Circuit style session. It was excellent and once it was over I felt that I had worked every muscle in my body. There was such a mixture of activities, I felt like I never really caught my breath in the whole time we did the 10 stations - and then we did it a second time. In a nutshell we did each station for one minute with a 20 second rest in between each exercise.

I enjoy the KB routines that we have done the last few months… Continue

Thursday Kettlebell Class Workout

Wanted to blast the class last night so decided on the 20/20 challenge. The class hasn't done this before so I was a little worried that they would be able to handle it - or indeed want to try it.

Have mentioned this before but the challenge is 20 KB Swings followed by 20 push ups, then 20 swings and 19 push up, 20 swings and 18 push ups, and so on. Yep, 20 swings each time then descending push ups.

I have only done this myself twice previously so was looking forward to seeing how it went. The… Continue

What's important???

I was sent this link yesterday of a short movie clip. I am sure I have seen it before but watched it through again as it does remind you to take stock.

We all seem to be in such a rush these days and never have time for the important things in life. This is like when I talk to clients about needing to fix there physical problems/injuries or even guiding those onto a cleaner lifestyle to improve their health and wellbeing.

It appears many, or even most people will not blink an eyelid at spendin… Continue

Tuesday Core class

Week 4 of our new core mobility class and a full house again - 13 members. I always find the class runs smoother with a full or near full class as the atmosphere is so much better. Tonight was a warm one but we still need to get the body mobile before launching into the main exercises.

I think some of the class are still getting used to me and my sense of humour. Still some blank faces when asking if they understand my instructions or what they are supposed to be doing.

We stepped it up a litt… Continue

"Summer's here at last", said the fat bloke!

I'm so glad that Summer is here. Why? Well it signals the end of the mad period of work between January and May. All my students have just finished their revision courses, they are busy prepping for exams, and that means my work is done...at least until the September intake.

So, no more hotels and good food and hours spent standing in one place. It's time to lose some weight, eat properly, S-T-R-E-T-C-H (whose catch phrase is that....Martin?), dust off those kettlebells, get the bike out of the… Continue

Well, certainly some deep massage to the area then possibly some PNF stretcing to reduce the scarring that has almost definitely formed. You really need to be stretching the area now as the scarring will limit the muscles extensibility and become c…

Back in November 2008, I developed a hamstring injury while performing high kicks at a Taekwondo class. I felt a sudden crunch, then instantly had pain (at the point where the hamstring meets the glute) whenever engaging my right hamstring. The pain…
